Wright's Mill sells packages of very nice trim remnants for people who like to sew for dolls. You need three labels from their trim packages (bias tape, flex lace, etc.) and it takes a couple of months to get your package of trim remnants back. But Lindy really loved what she got in hers when it arrived.
You can send your three Wrights labels plus $4 (for purchase, shipping and handling) to:
Wrights, Attn: Doll Packs
P.O. Box 398
West Warren, MA 01092
and ask for "a mixed generous package of trimmings and ribbons for doll clothes".
If you're interested, do this fairly soon because Wrights recently announced that it is moving its factory from MA to NC within the next 12 months!

Yes, I was extremely pleased with the items from wrights. Some of the trims were selling for $5.oo + dollars in the yardage shop. They send you at least 2 yards of each piece, which is plenty for a doll dress.

I have always gotten really neat things when I sent in my lables. My Mom used to send in her lables when I was a kid.. that was like 30 yrs ago.. they must sell a lot of their over stock this way.. I am addicted to exotic fabrics and trims of any kind.

It used to be how they got rid of their "seconds" when I was little. Now the trims they sell in their outlet in Sturbridge are just like you'd buy in a fabric shop, only much cheaper.
Oddly enough, the things that Lindy got by mail were not for sale in the factory outlet. Those goody bags come from the factory itself. Which is why losing the mill to North Carolina is bumming me out.

Oh that's really cool. I might have to send in for one set.
It's to bad they don't accept any product labels. I have so many labels from the Boye line.

Oh no, does this mean the factory outlet at Sturbridge will cease to be?

It wasn't mentioned in the newspaper article my mother sent me. But Warren is pretty close to Sturbridge in terms of getting stock over from the factory to the outlet store. What will happen if they move the factory to North Carolina? I'm not happy...

The website also lists factory specials.
These are some really good deals!
Unfortunately, the postage cost is quite high, for small orders, but assuming "assorted packages" mean full sized packages, this is an awesome deal even with the shipping cost.

Edit- because if you order a lot, shipping is actually quite cheap!

I think Lindy ordered a whole bunch of these specials to get the maximum out of the shipping cost and was quite happy with the results. My mother offered to "spot me" the funds to go back to the Wrights factory outlet again when I was depressed a week or so ago, but she doesn't know what kind of Pandora's box that innocent little offer could open up! So I bravely said I had enough lace for now.
Who am I kidding? You can NEVER have ENOUGH LACE!!!

Well rather than do the doll packs, I decided to go with a factory order.
I was going to get 1 set of rick rack (12 packages) and 1 set of lace (15 packages) That was $5.50 in product but $7.50 in shipping.
Way to expensive.
So now I am getting 1 set of bias tape (15 packages), 1 set of assorted trimmings (25 pieces), 1 set of 2 yard pieces of ribbon (25 pieces), 1 set of rick rack (12 packages) and 1 set of lace (15 packages). $15.95 with the same shipping. Ahhhh. Much better.
I would get even more if I knew my husband wouldn't freak out when he sees almost 100 different pieces of trim.
You're right, you can never have to much. Because right now I only have 4 packages and I ration them, because I don't want to waste them. When I have tons, I'll actually use them, because I have plenty. I don't know when I decided I needed to keep things in a stash, but it is essential to have some "just in case".
